Garland is where things are made??? What things. Garland is where things are made does not sound exciting and inviting at all. Perhaps.. Garland is the city of Lights, Attractions, and new opportunities. Generations of friends and families are created in Garland.

Better head back to the drawing board. This evokes New Mexico, not Garland.
Check out web site on top 20 city logos. Thanks.

I have lived in Garland since 1963 and am in marketing for over 15 years. Though I am open minded, I do not believe this is the right direction to go with a new logo. I agree it does look too southwestern, but consider the sources who created it… Hahn Texas. Also, tagline does not make any sense. why wasn't the citizens of Garland informed of this beforehand? why wasn't a focus group assembled to get citizen feedback? waste of taxpayer money! looks too much like firewheel logo. let's see some creativity!!!!

Looks too European to me. I immediately thought of the Scandinavian Countries when I saw it. Not very impressive.
I suggest you request help from the art students in GISD.
Are we trying to sell Garland to the world? If so, there are other cities named Garland, do we need to put a silhouette of Texas in the background?
