This week, approximately half of our in-depth interviews will be complete. TheĀ opinionsĀ and insights we’re collecting as a part of this process are giving us the framework we’ll use to build the new brand.

  1. Gail Vines says:

Are there any citizens on this committee? I am very interested in promoting the City of Garland. I have noticed that there is no promotion of our fine city at the state border Welcome centers although all neighboring cities are represented. This is June and there were no research findings posted in May.

  2. Lee says:

Was the everyday citizen included in the conversation? I did not see the concern over payday loan, tote the note and animal services issues.

  3. Lee says:

I am wondering how the contacts to every day citizen's were made. Can you explain the demographic selection i.e. race, age, sex etc? The recent issues have been pay day loans stores and the performance of the animal shelter .
It would be nice to see a change in our city.

      Dear Ms. Lutz,

Thank you for your interest in Garland’s branding project.

To answer your question, a broad cross-section of community leaders was chosen to participate in the in-depth interviews to provide insight on what Garland's brand and image can and should be. Participants included local business owners, members of nonprofit and minority organizations, and city officials, among others. About 95 percent of the respondents either live or work in Garland and two thirds have been residents of Garland for an average of 33 years.

All Garland residents will be encouraged to share their thoughts after we provide new logo and tagline options for consideration. We plan to post the new concepts online and/or in public places across the city for residents to view and offer feedback.

      Sincerely,

      Hahn, Texas (Garland's branding partner)

    Dear Ms. Vines,

Thank you for the comment and your interest in helping to promote Garland.

The Garland City Council Events and Marketing Committee is overseeing the branding project and resident input will be an important part of creating a new, unified branding and marketing campaign. All Garland residents will be encouraged to share their thoughts after we provide new logo and tagline options for consideration. We plan to post the new concepts online and/or in public places across the city for residents to view and offer feedback.

Thank you also for your suggestion about adding Garland promotional materials to state welcome centers. We agree with you and will plan to do this after the materials are developed.

    Sincerely,
    Hahn, Texas (Garland's branding partner)
